# Scope, privacy, and external services

Message, Unpacked. teaches general verification habits through prepared cases. It does not decide whether a learner's real message is genuine and does not replace police, legal, financial, counselling, or school professional judgment.

## Do not submit real messages or personal data

Do not paste or upload real messages, suspicious URLs, credentials, payment details, or another person's information into an issue, case file, classroom screen, GitBook search, AI assistant, page-feedback form, or future project form.

Static activities do not ask for names, accounts, phone numbers, or rosters. Answers and progress remain in the current page. Live interaction is a separate optional mode using a random short-lived participation credential and the current answer only; it creates no roster, ranking, grade, or cross-question individual history.

## External services

The demo site uses GitHub Pages, the guide uses GitBook, and the optional live room service uses Cloudflare Workers and Durable Objects. These providers may process technical data such as IP addresses, browser details, requested pages, service logs, abuse signals, and recovery copies under their own policies.

GitBook search, an AI assistant, or page-rating features may additionally send the query, prompt, or rating entered by a reader to GitBook. Teachers and learners must not enter real messages or personal data into those controls. The project recommends keeping optional AI-assistant and page-rating features disabled unless their classroom purpose and privacy notice have been reviewed.

The project does not receive individual student answer history from GitHub Pages or GitBook. Material changes to hosting, analytics, accounts, message analysis, rosters, grades, or persistent answer storage require a new privacy review and updated notice.
